Chants of “Husker” ring from one side of Memorial Stadium. While shouts of “Power” echo from the other. This Cornhuskers’ rallying cry greets players as they take the field during the “Tunnel Walk.” The Big Red is a football powerhouse and can boast a history of over 800 wins and five National Championships. And the fans? They couldn’t be more loyal. An inscription at the main gate of Memorial Stadium declares, “Through these gates pass the greatest fans in college football.” And whether it’s football or volleyball, you can count on the devotion of the Sea of Red.

Style Facts:
The Nebraska Huskers helmet design has remained virtually unchanged since 1970. Prior to that season, the helmets read "NU.” Then, a shortage of “U” stickers caused many to fear the “U” was bad luck. So it was dropped and the helmets haven’t changed since.
