Style Facts:
Sentinel Peak in the Tucson Mountains is most commonly known as “A” Mountain. In a tradition that dates back to 1914, Arizona students have painted the school’s trademark “A” in red, white and blue on the mountain’s face to mark the beginning of each school year. Though occasionally, in an ongoing prank, rivals Arizona State have been known to repaint “A” Mountain in their school colors.
