The Rose Bowl Game
In 2014, the Rose Bowl Game celebrated its 100th game from its fabled Pasadena, California, home at the Rose Bowl Stadium. The New Year’s Day football game was first played in 1902 and has been an annual tradition since 1916, making it the oldest college football bowl game in history. Known as the “Granddaddy of Them All,” the Rose Bowl Game has showcased 17 Heisman Trophy winners and has produced 29 national champions. Since 1946, the Rose Bowl Game has hosted the annual match up of the conference champions from the Big Ten and Pac-12. In 2015, the Rose Bowl Game will host one of the inaugural College Football Playoff Semifinal games as part of the new College Football Playoff system. In non-semifinal years, the game will continue to feature the traditional Pac-12 and Big Ten match-up.
